No Fault Accident Benefits

Section B of your insurance policy provides "no fault" accident benefits. These benefits include medical and rehabilitation expenses, death and funeral benefits, and loss of income. Since these benefits are "no fault" they provide assistance to all injured persons, regardless of who caused the accident.

Deductibility of CPP Benefits From A Loss of Future Income Award

In a 2009 Nova Scotia Supreme Court decision (McKeough v Miller, (2009) NSSC 394), the Supreme Court determined that CPP benefits were deductible from an award for future loss  of incomeunder the Nova Scotia legislation.
